About the Technology

VEIL is the manipulation of luminance in the video image to bury data in a manner that cannot be perceived by the human eye. This variance creates an output of up to 6000 bytes of information per second for transmission over the broadcast signal. VEIL can be adapted to all broadcast standards (NTSC, PAL, and SECAM) to achieve worldwide adoption of its data transmission applications that are tailored to promotional events and drive individual household viewership. VEIL, a data transmission alternative to the more limited VBI (Vertical Blanking Interval), resides in the full-video-image and goes anywhere that video goes.

Last October in the United States, VEIL enabled an unprecedented interactive marketing promotion for AT&T and Ericsson Mobile Phones during ABC's "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." VEIL is utilized in over 100 US TV markets by CMR, the leading provider of strategic advertising and marketing information, to track the occurrence of television programming and commercials within hours of airing. VEIL is currently working with leading networks, technology partners, and content providers to deploy interactive content, commerce opportunities, and enhanced TV services to consumers through television.
