Support Technician -
We’re seeking a Support Technician to aid in ongoing maintenance and development of our existing Broadcast Verification video watermarking system. The industry standard system is comprised of over 30 signal encoders units, and signal decoders present in over 100 markets. Strong customer service and problem solving skills are essential to the post.
Responsibilities:
- Primary point of contact with customer for repairs, testing, and software bugs
- Examining video samples for signal degradation.
- Diagnosing, repairing, and refitting hardware encoders and decoders.
- Maintain and adding to Software Encoder feature list and code base.
- Assembly and unit testing of PC based Software Encoders.
Required Skills and Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong C / C++ coding experience
- Ability to work under both Linux and windows development environments
- Working knowledge of current and emerging broadcast video standards.
- Hardware Troubleshooting Experience
Embedded Software Engineer – We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team responsible for implementing our next generation of compression and format conversion resistant video watermarking solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain hardware and software survivability testing platform
- Implement trial watermarking algorithms.
- Test algorithms against known and suspected future broadcast pathways
- Development of software for encoding and decoding platforms
Required Skills and Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong C / C++ coding experience
- Ability to work under both Linux and windows development environments
- Image processing experience, or appropriate coursework
- Working knowledge of current and emerging broadcast video standards.
Desirable Skills and Background:
- Image Processing knowledge, with a focus on JPEG / MPEG compression
- Embedded programming experience
- Linux driver experience
- Linux daemon / Windows Services development experience
Vice President of Technology/Engineering Manager - VEIL Interactive Technologies has an immediate need for a Vice President of Technology/Engineering Manager for our St. Louis, MO office. VEIL has been on the cutting edge of interactive television spectrum for many years. We have a patented revolutionary technology that allows digital information to be inserted into an ordinary video image which interfaces with inexpensive decoding circuits enabling a television viewer to interactive with television content. To date these devices have ranged from talking figurines to live play gaming units.
We are now searching for an individual to lead our engineering efforts. The ideal candidate will be an innovator, a great team leader and motivator, will have software/hardware experience, understand embedded signal processing, and should have some sales skills in translating complex engineering issues to wide variety of audiences. Some broadcast/cable distribution industry knowledge is a plus. All candidates should have a minimum of a BSEE or similar degree.
The following is a description of the position broken out in the four different areas of responsibility.
Technical:
- Develop test plans based on product specifications
- Coordinate with external companies for testing/verification, or certification (FCC, RoHS, etc)
- Experience in practical design and development of embedded systems software, including middleware, firmware, application layer, communication protocols and drivers
- Experience in embedded operating systems and RTOS
- Strong embedded C/C++ and embedded assembly skills (4 bit to 16 bit assembly)
- Strong PC C/C++ skills required, networking and web applications a plus
- Strong knowledge of embedded systems hardware architecture and communication protocols (board level and board-to-board)
- Understanding of schematics and PCB layouts required: schematic capture and board layout experience a plus
- Work includes: digital signal processing, high-bandwidth & low-latency signals processing, general system controller functions, audio/video processing, short-range wireless data communication, sensor interfacing, small signal analog preprocessing, very low power, and design for cost
Communication:
- Must be able to explain complex systems simply and directly
- Candidate must be articulate and be able to speak to a variety of audiences from non-technical to very technical
- Negotiate and coordinate with overseas semiconductor suppliers, agents, and production management teams
- From time to time the candidate may speak publicly, on behalf of the company, at trade shows, working groups or conferences
Sales Support:
- Act as a sales-to-engineering interface and vice-versa
- Initial product architecture and component selection/sourcing
- Provide accurate cost estimates and timelines to sales staff for quoting purposes
- Coordinate and produce custom demonstrations for clients
- Visit clients and trade shows
- Travel (including international) and serving as a technical resource for sales and marketing in their efforts to gain and maintain business partners
Management
- Personnel and technical management
- Individual must be able to manage several projects simultaneously
- Experience with overseas development and manufacturing a plus
- Develop and manage a wide variety of timelines including research projects, design/development projects, production/manufacturing and freight/shipping.
- A minimum of a BSEE/MSEE or similar degree
- Strong leadership and teambuilding skills
- 5-10 years experience in R&D
- 5-10 years experience in theoretical analysis
- 5-10 years experience in practical design utilizing analog/digital/microprocessor based controlled circuitry
- 5-10 years experience in video detection and manipulation
- Must be able to explain complex systems simply and directly
- Candidate must be articulate and be able to speak to a variety of audiences from non-technical to very technical
- Candidate should have extensive hardware and software experience
- Candidate should have several years experience in embedded signal processing.
- Familiarity with broadcast/cable distribution industry is a plus
